What to expect with Optimel Manuka eye drops
Melcare say the drops "may provide relief from dry eye symptoms such as sore, irritated eyes and eyelids". Expect stinging and redness for several minutes after each drop, and close your eye until it settles. The drops are not for anyone sensitive to honey, food gums or benzoate preservatives.
Using Optimel Manuka eye drops with other products
Take contact lenses out before using the drops, and wait 30 minutes before putting them back in. Melcare also make Optimel Manuka Forte Gel, a manuka honey eye gel in a 10g tube. Warnings
- Don't use if you're sensitive to honey, food gums or benzoate preservatives.
- Remove contact lenses before use, and wait at least 30 minutes before putting them back in.
- Stinging and redness are expected for several minutes after each drop. Close your eye until it settles.
- For any reaction other than short-lived stinging and redness, stop using the drops and contact your eye care professional.
- Don't use if the drops change colour or turn cloudy.
- See your doctor if you get eye pain, vision changes, or irritation that doesn't settle.
- Store below 25°C. Discard 2 months after opening.
- Each bottle is for one person only.
How To Use
1. Wash hands thoroughly
2. Apply one drop in each affected eye. Follow the directions on your pack for how often to use the drops
3. Avoid touching the bottle tip to your eyes
4. Close your eye until the stinging settles
5. Replace the cap after use
6. Wait at least 30 minutes before putting contact lenses back in
